_project Name: Iconic Hotel

_location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

_brief: A modern hotel to create a bold, visual identity for a waterfront district.

_considerations: To address dramatic views whilst relating to an urban context.

_response: A G+9 boutique, waterside hotel drawing on nature for its form and its sustenance. Imagined as a coral reef, the hotel appears to float upwards through the use of cantilevered overhangs, using interior room colours to form a single, multi-coloured mosaic that shines at night, marking the hotel on the skyline. Abundant sunlight and seawater are harnessed to power the hotel, whilst it’s coral skin - unbroken by floors or windows – prevents direct sunlight from striking the glass throughout the day.
